    As-salaamu 'alaikum Shaykh. How deep can one's finger or earbuds go into one's ear without entering the body cavity and breaking one's fast, and which finger is used to determine this? Jazaka Allahu khair

    This is Shaykh Moustafa's response: “If you press your index finger into your ear with mild pressure, that's the external part of your ear. Anything that goes in further breaks your fast.”
